-- Giving into the hype --
Having seen the American brand NYX Cosmetics float around the blogosphere with praises attached to it like colourful balloons, I knew I had to see for myself what the brand was like. Funnily enough, on the same day I visited my local Boots, I got an email saying that the store now has NYX Cosmetics stocked and of course I excitedly rushed over there. I decided to pick up a primer and cream lipstick to just get a first taste of the brand and I have to say I'm super impressed! And a side note: for those who are looking for cruelty free brands, you've come to the right place as this brand is one of them.
The NYX HD Photogenic primer for one is blue. BLUE. That did put me off slightly, but on application it blends in so well and creates a nice smooth base to apply foundation and all the usual products. I hate to admit it, but I might be replacing my beloved Benefit Porefessional with this from now on. And for £12 it's practically half the price! I've used it three times so far and with only a little, it makes my makeup last just as long, which I'm happy with. Woo hoo!
I'm that girl who always wears pink, berry, red and nude lips but this find has changed everything. For some reason when looking at their Liquid Suede cream lipsticks, I was drawn to the purple one. It's now a game changer and I feel instantly cooler and much more tumblr. For £6.50, they are really pigmented and creamy and create a moisturing matte finish when dried. Oh, there I am rocking the colour below...
I don't care if I'm going to get funny looks in the street when I wear this out. I'm actually in love with it and I can't wait to see what the other colours turn out to be like in the range. Plus, it's perfect for the summer and will go with all my eyeshadows.
It's easy to see why the brand has successfully jumped to the other side of the pond and given us British a sweet taste. NYX is for sure just to about to secure a place as one of my favourite ever brands...
Have you guys tried any NYX products?
