Booook haul!!
Yeaaaah, I know it's practically April and I've not posted much.
That doesn't stop me from telling you all about the books I want to read this year.
I've set myself a goal of 53 books. SAAAAY WAAAAH?
Admittedly I've only read 9 books, but for me right now, that's good going!
(Cos trust me, I've only read two from this picture...)
Aka the last book haul I did...
Oh heyyyyy...
It's my first post of 2021. And I've decided to kick it off with a lovely book review post. Because I LOVE reading and it only seemed right to talk about the books I bought in my last trip to Waterstones.
Cos, in lovely bright England we're in lockdown again. Lol.
The BIGGEST book haul
Feast your eyes on this photo...
Because I have (after ordering this bunch off Waterstones in April) read every single one.
AND I am here today to review each and every one.
So, grab a snack or beverage and a list, because you're probably gonna want to add these to your next haul.
Yay for spring reading!
Yep.
I bought even more books.
I'm trying to take a break after this post to re-read all the books I already do have!
ANYWAY.
This little post is about all the ones I've enjoyed (maybe also are a bit meh), and am about to read. And I hope as always, this will give you inspiration for what you want to read soon...
Kicking off the year with great reads
Oooooooookay.
I know this post isn't technically being put out into the world in the new year.
Buuut, the books in this post where bought at the beginning of January. SO. It counts.
Funny, cosy and festive reads
I LOVE a good ol' light hearted festive read.
It makes me feel all toasty and cosy inside. And of course super Christmassy!!
Cosy up with a twist of a read
I've been busy.
Reading books that is.
To fit the theme of this week - because it's officially spooky week woooooo. I'm going to share with you guys the books you should pick up if you're looking for a mix of horror and mystery...
Just don't blame me if you can't sleep. Mwahahahahaaa...
Yeah, I bought more books
I did that thing again where I tell myself I'm going to reread some books that I love first and then treat myself. But I kind of fell into Waterstone's last week and left with more than I thought I would leave with...
And that's what this post is about.
Yay!!
Reads to take on holiday or to the park
It's basically that time of year when you're in the mood to get out and bask in the sun.
Whether that's in a completely different country (VERY jealous of those of you who get to indulge in that) or in your local town or city.
And what's a better companion than a book??
Perfect reading for the longer Spring days
With Spring just around the corner, and the fact that I've sorted through my shelves and given the books I no longer enjoy away.
I thought I should, y'know...
Treat myself to a load more books.
As you do.
A sweet paper escape
I have a serious love affair with books.
And it all started in primary school when I would be so excited to go to the library and borrow a book. (Though nine times out of ten, it was always the book
The Pizza Princess.)
Then it was aaaall about Jacqueline Wilson, Harry Potter - obvs - and Goosebumps. Not forgetting aaaaall the teen fiction I read in high school.
I read so much, I even walked to school with a book open in my hands.
Fast forward to 2019, and I'm still pretty much OBSESSED with these paper objects that hide the secrets of a good story.
And I'm here to tell you why they're amazing too. I'm talking about the physical kind as well...
New year, new amazing reads
Fran the bookworm is back kids. And I've got some sparkly new books to sink my eyes into this month. (get it? mouth? eyes? No? I'm sorry...)
ANYWAYS.
These books were purchased on two separate occasions - (one) when I needed some fresh books to grace my shelves and (two) with some Christmas money I received. And I'm so excited to get stuck into these and wanted to kick of this year's series of book posts by sharing them with you all!!
Book tidings of comfort and joy
The book part of my blog is about to get suuuuper festive...
And this year's selection of the reads you should enjoy at the moment is a whole host of new purchases and a couple of classics!
Time to get reading!
Taking a book to the beach is all well and good, but there's HONESTLY nothing better than when it gets colder and getting cosy on the sofa by the far with a good read.
Am I right?
And recently, I took a trip to Waterstones - my fave shop ever (aside from Lush obviously) - and stocked up on books to read for the coming season.
Celebrating the women writers!
Not only are the covers of these books super pretty and actually sooo tumblr, they make up a cool and unique collection from Penguin. The Penguin Women Writers.
I first heard about these from the wonderful life/book blogger
vivatramp, who included these in a book haul a while ago. And as soon as I researched what each was actually about, I knew I needed these on my shelf. ASAP.
Reads for garden chilling
If you know me by now. I LOVE to read, and I won't go anywhere without a book in my bag.
Heck I even have a 'book club' tab on my blog now!
And there's nothing quite like sitting out in the garden (with plenty of sun lotion on) reading a great novel with a nice cold glass of fruit juice/water...
Books I spent my bday money on
I have to say, my book shelf - or shelves - are getting pretty full so I had to sort through them and decided to sacrifice my Twilight book series. Just seeing them on my shelf makes me cringe to be honest.
So with those gone to the charity shop, it only seemed appropriate to use some of my birthday money on some books that have been on my 'to read' list for the loooongest time.
Why you need to read this book
Hello new section on my blog! If you kids haven't noticed, the words 'book club' now feature on my top bar with all the other lovely categories that I talk about. So now, you can go on there and see aaaaaall the book posts I've ever written to find new books to add to your 'to read' list. *Woooo*
And in this post, I want to talk about a book that I've just recently finished (and shared with you guys in my
book haul here) -
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
My updated 'to read' list
I just finished reading Les Mis - which you can read about in my
faves post here - and now my heart is empty. And that was the last new book I had from Christmas. So I needed a load of new books for the new year (if you can still call it that considering we're in February now lmao). I hit up my fave book store Waterstones and bought a few novels that were on my
goodreads to read list!
I'm veeeery excited to read them and also stoked to share them with you guys, so let's get into it...
Books to warm your soul

I've got a few that are my ABSOLUTE favourites! They're all funny, lighthearted and perfect for picking up whenever you want. And I felt like it's about time I shared them with you! Soo, read on to see what you need to buy next on your trip to the book shop...
