Where I Stand Now With Being A 'Blogger'

I've probably mentioned this A LOT.

But I've been blogging since 2014 and filming for youtube since 2015. And a lot has changed.

I feel like I've grown dramatically as a person, my tastes and aesthetics have slightly differed. (Hellooooooo all colours of the rainbow!) And so have my dreams...

And that includes this blog. I mean it's been 5 years.

When I started this little space, a part of me couldn't help hoping that this would become a job for me. And maybe even a main source of income.

Years down the line, that's changed. That's mainly due to the influence of other bloggers and them recounting their experiences with being a full time blogger, and the fact it's not actually what I want to do now.

I'm VERY happy that this is a wonderful side hobby that pairs alongside my love of losing myself in a good book. And I don't want to be that person stressing over things like taxes, steady income, brand collabs etc. (I don't even look at my blog email that I made but took off my 'about' page almost immediately. I don't like the expectations of what a blogger 'should' be.)

My job is everything I want it to be and more - so I'm generally feeling very fulfilled with my life. So, when it comes to blogging, I'm just feeling like a chilled bean.

I don't feel panicked if I don't upload a post on time, nor do statistics and numbers bother me. (I've not looked at the overall statistics since last year and those that are promoting that you should be trying to grow your following and views and continuously promote your content - well, I can't be bothered with that lmao)

My new schedule of two posts a week is enough for me. I'm still constant but it gives me space to think up new post ideas, chill when I am off from work and live in the moment than spend my time trying to keep my blog updated.

To sum it all up, I'm in a good place with my blog. I don't mind that it's kind of going nowhere as I'm so grateful for the number of readers and engagement I have now!!
