Eating all the aesthetically pleasing cake
What better way to celebrate your birthday than with a friend who has a birthday mere days from yours at the most aesthetically pleasing and hugely popular insta hot spot: Sketch???
This BEAUT place has been on my bucket list since I saw a photo pop up on Pinterest... And I was like... 'WHAT IS THIS PLACE????'
Legit three years down the line, I managed to go to this magical place! And it's just off Regent Street.
I could tell you right now, I was so excited to eat ALL THE FREAKING CAKE! (And sandwiches lol)
First up.... save a bit of money as per person it's around £70. And as this was a treat, I didn't feel bad about it.
The overall aesthetic is what I want my house/kitchen to be like. Pretty and comfy pink seats, cute lamps, the most amazing cutlery (I LOOOOOVE the teacup!!) and the most amazing illustrations!
So, let's picture the scene.
Two violinists playing music, smartly dressed waiters and waitresses floating around and a calm atmosphere.
We started off with the tea and I opted for tropical punch as I don't really like floral or mint teas. And it was the best decision ever... It tasted a bit like cranberry juice oooh.
Then it was cheesy egg and soldiers as the first course which was nice - but kind of sickly. With caviar. EEEEEWW. I ate it but never ever again.
We then went onto the main course as such, which was a three tier event. Ooooh.
At the bottom we had the sandwiches which were coronation chicken, cucumber and ricotta, salmon and cream cheese and a kind of tart which I can't remember what it was. All were pretty delicious, but if I could, I would have asked for more coronation chicken! *inserts on point hand emoji here*
Then we had the pastries like a chocolate eclair, lemon tart, and a macaron. AAAAND the top tier was the most fluffiest and flavorsome marshmallow ever and a raspberry desert thing. Lol I'm so good at explaining.
Let me tell you, this was my fave part!!! I felt so indulgent and fancy - especially with the cloth serviette on my lap.
After, it was scones with cream and jam - which were beautifully warm. And then victoria sponge to end. Which we were too stuffed to eat, so we took it home. And I gave mine to my mum...
BUUUUT.
Can we talk about the toilets for a second!!
I've never been so excited to go to a toilet - and take photos!
It was so colourful, atmospheric and they had special florals in as a spring decoration. So it was even prettier than normal!!
And yes, when you go into a toilet, there are geese noises. And I swear at one point it sounded pretty distressed lmao.
Sketch was a beautiful experience and was honestly so worth it. I had the most amazing time, the service was impeccable - I mean, our drinks were constantly topped up omg. And I'm so grateful to my friend for book us a spot!
If you ever have the chance to go, please do. It's truly worth it guys.
Have you ever been to sketch?
