3 Secrets On Blog Photography

-- Get your picture taking game on! --

I've been slightly MIA on this blog this week, but I promise you I'm really busy with exciting things (and work) that I can't wait to share with you over the next few days!! One of them being held today which rhymes with mush... *wiggles eyebrows* But while I have a spare few minutes to talk to you guys, I thought I would share three tricks on working with a DSLR for your blog. Because everyone wants crisp clean and bright photos to bring readers back - and also be satisfied with the aesthetic you've created. Compared to this time last year, my photos have radically improved (if I say so myself) and it's all down to what I've discovered. So, without further ado... here they are!

001: Jiggle with exposure on your settings:
This is probably an obvious one, but instead of me struggling with exposure on Photoshop, I've found out I can make my brightness look more natural by changing it on my camera. You just need to go to the menu and 'exposure' should pop up and you just move the dial on the screen up and down to get what you want. This is super life changing, especially now it's getting darker and you need more light! For an example, the photo for this post was used with exposure and it looks so much cleaner.

002: Take OOTD's easily on your own:
Yep, that's right! If you're shooting from home or locally, you just need yourself and the camera... (if you're not embarrassed when you're in public) Instead of doing single shooting, you can change it to 10 second timed shoots, so set it up, look on the screen for the right angle and pose! That's how I've been doing my shots for the fashion side of my blog. I feel like even without anyone to help they turn out pretty good.

003: Get those props right!:
Slightly veering off actual camera settings now, but I've found that finding the right props like a notebook, trinket tray and even pretty independent magazines make any blog photo look a million times more interesting. Because then there's a nice composition and balance of the product and the prop, and it can appeal to a reader more as it's pleasing to the eye. I hope I've been achieving this so far, as getting that fake Ikea plant was the best decision ever haha.

What tips would you give other readers on blog photography?
