The Love of Road Trips

Today I was thinking about the many times I've been on a road trip. Not the almighty ones that take a month, but the short ones that we Brits just enjoy. I just love that buzz that you get when your parents announce a road trip. You ask where? To Brighton! To a lovely restaurant! Just across the country! And then it involves me packing my much loved American Apparel bag with my iPod, books, makeup essentials and so on.
 
Even though, I'm nearly 18, a road trip is just exciting because of where you're going to end up. I particularly enjoy staring out of the window in the car and watching the world go by with 'Blue' blaring in my ears. (A Marina and the Diamonds song - if you should know) There was one tumblr post that I saw and I particularly loved which contrasted the joys of British road trips to the mighty American ones. It said if you drove for one hour in Britain, you'll end up in the sea and if you drove for one hour in America, you'll still be in the same state. That just made me laugh because it's so true, it only takes me an hour to get to Brighton.

And what makes a good trip? A pretty good playlist! My iPod is usually stocked with my favourites from Mars, Marina and the 1975 to Sky Ferreira, Lana Del Rey and Ed Sheeran. Music is basically a soundtrack to your trip and it makes you feel like it's also the soundtrack to a movie you're in, if you put it up loud enough. Not that I recommend that, because you could annoy your fellow passengers.

    I love road trips too and me and my friends are planning on driving to Brighton and going to the place where they filmed Broadchurch in the summer! I'm super excited x

    I love a good road trip anywhere, we drove to Disneyland Paris in December and that was by far the best one yet!

    I love the idea of a new filter for each season :)

    I love road trips haha. I used to always do a three hour one like every weekend, but I'd usually just sleep in the car haha. I have really bad insomnia but when I go into a car I fall asleep like a baby! It's really weird, I just find cars so relaxing.
