'Tanya Bakes' Salted Caramel Brownies

-- Indulge in this super sweet treat --

Whilst having both a writer's and youtuber's block, it was only fair I would essentially hit three birds with one stone... I really wanted to bake these gorgeous salted caramel brownies from Tanya Burr's baking book and to be honest I just had to blog about it and film me making them! The brownies turned out perfect and moist while the caramel with the sea salt flakes was beautiful and sticky. This is one of the most effective and easy recipes out there and I hope you give it a go! I know I'll be scoffing these again soon because they made my Saturday night after takeaway a dream. It's definitely a one off snack, but you need any excuse for delicious nosh while watching the Olympics...

001: Ingredients:

200g butter
4 eggs
160g plain flour
60g cocoa powder
300g dark chocolate (70%) chopped
300g golden caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tin Carnation caramel
1 teaspoon sea salt flakes

002: Method:

1. Set your oven to 180 degrees or gas mark four and line a 30 x 20 baking tray with grease proof paper.

2. In a bowl over a simmering pot of water, melt the butter and chocolate together. Remove from the heat and whisk in the sugar until mixed in.

3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until light and bubbles are forming.

4. The add in the cocoa powder and flour, using a wooden spoon fold in in a figure of 8 until it forms a thick smooth mixture.

5. Then spread half the mixture into the tray evenly, add the caramel and spread evenly and sprinkle over the sea salt. Spread the rest of the mixture on top and bake for 25 minutes.

6. After, leave to completely cool, then cut into squares and serve.
