Why It's Ok To Be A Single Pringle On Valentine's Day

It's time for a bit of me time!

Let's be honest with each other for a moment. I don't loathe Valentine's Day, I just find it too commercialised and sickly sweet. Like someone stuffed five strawberry Quality Streets in my mouth, and I've got to eat them before I choke. A bit morbid, but that just about sums the day up. I'm totally fine with those of you who love celebrating it with your boyfriends or girlfriends, or are in love with the idea, but if a future boyfriend ever bought me a giant teddy holding a heart, I'd be like 'what are you after mate?' But for us single pringles, it's great that a day like this is rubbed in our face that we're alone. I mean, it's totally fine!! *wails hysterically* But it shouldn't be all doom and gloom! I think being single on February 14th is the best! And I have a few reasons up my sleeve on why...

001: You have an excuse to 'treat yo self':
Saving that last bit of money you've put aside for yourself for a day when you might see something you really like?? Make that time today! Hit up the makeup counters, raid the rails in Topshop and go insane in a favourite shop. You don't need a special someone to buy you a teddy or chocolates, only you can satisfy your wants and that is true love. Though obviously don't go over your budget...

002: It's the perfect day to have some pampering me time and self care:
Of course self care shouldn't be kept aside for these kinds of days. But you can take it to the next level by maybe buying a new face mask and a bath product, so you have something to look forward to using in the evening... So, run a beautiful bath, pamper your face and throw on the freshest pajamas in the country. You deserve it. (I'm planning on using a load of Lush VD products tonight because who doesn't love using Lush products??)

003: Ice cream, chocolate or pizza galore hurrah:
Am I eating a whole tub of ice cream because I'm sad? Nuh uh. I'm eating a whole tub as a desert after my indulgence of pizza because my body is my temple, and I love myself. But also because I've just made Valentine's Day as an excuse to gorge on calorific goodies. And no man/woman can tell me I can't!! And as you're reading this, I may or may have not taken advantage of the last McDonald's £2 voucher...

004: Gather your friends for a night of movies and snacks:
If your fellow friends are single pringles too, what better way to take advantage of the 14th than by inviting them all round your house! Choose your favourite movies (best to avoid the soppy love ones - but do go for some classics and comedies) and settle down with chocolate, popcorn and maybe even a few cheeky mugs of coffee and tea. You'll soon be glad you never decided to go out when you're all passing round the food...

What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

  4. I definitely think Valentines Day is the best time to treat yourself!! I always did it when I was single, along with a lovely bath and a bit of wine - perfect. We don't really celebrate it as a couple, it feels like it's only just been Christmas! Just a simple card and I brought him a cup of coffee in bed!

Vday can be a real bitch to us single pringles, but the pizza and icecream (with hot cookies!!) makes up for it~ Great post x
