6 Steps To A Perfect Pampering Bath

Making the most of an evening to yourself

You've had a packed week full of exciting and challenging things, and now you just want to sink into some bubbles and forget about the world... just for a few minutes. But how are you going to make it the pampering bath to end all pampering baths?? Look no further my friends, I have a few tips under my sleeve which will help to sink all your worries away! And I only say this because this works perfectly for me, and I really want to share it with you guys!

001: Start it off with a face mask!:
As soon as I take my makeup off, to start off the evening before the bath, I like to treat my face as much as the rest of my body by putting on a face mask. Any brand will do, as long as it's suited to your skin type! I do very much love the Lush face masks but I have a tendency to forget about them because they're in the fridge, so my mask of choice at the moment is the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal mask. This is amazing for all skin types, and especially during the winter, the heat from the mask is so comforting on the face.

002: Gather together the bath salts and bubble bath cream:
What's an 'ultimate' bath without something extra added than just your usual bath bomb of choice? Bath salts and bath cream that's what! Make it an ultimate cocktail for the best experience yaay. You can buy big bags of salts from Boots and Superdrug for amazing prices and they last for yonks, or you could go down the blogger route and use my go to's: Zoella Beauty Sugar Dip bath salts and Zoella Beauty Bath Latte! They're from the Sweet Inspirations range and smell like a patisserie... And the bath latte actually creates just as many bubbles as a Lush product and a drugstore product has NEVER done that for me!

003: Place in a bath bomb and be carried away by the colours:
To the main product, choosing a relaxing bath bomb that compliments the extras adds a an extra kapow to your bath. I love the Lush Intergalactic and The Experimenter bath bombs or the Lush Twilight bath bomb which is really relaxing with all the lavender... Watching it fizz away makes me feel really calm and you may want to take a couple of pictures haha.

004: Light some candles and play some spa music:
Even though it's getting lighter in the evenings, there's no reason why you shouldn't place a few candles around the bath. Not only does it look so comforting, but it's easier to relax rather than bathing in bright sunlight. You can make your evening more like you've booked yourself into a spa hotel by easily searching 'spa music' into YouTube... You're quite literally spoilt for choice with so many three hour videos on there. You could even go the extra mile by folding some fresh fluffy towels and placing them by the bath with your slippers!

005: Massage some lotion onto yourself and be mindful:
Don't stop the pampering once you've relaxed in your bubble kingdom. Use your favourite body lotion and while applying it, do it slowly and mindfully and think about the smell and the feel of the lotion. I'm not going mad, I promise... My go to's are always Lush's The Comforter body lotion or Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter! Sweet, beautiful and perfect for Spring!

006: Get cosy in your favourite pjs and snuggle under a throw:
Lastly, it's time to put on your evening wear! The baggier and comfier, the better. And then choose your destination of place (ie. your room, the sofa...) and get snuggly under a throw. Who cares if it's getting warmer, throws are the best things since sliced bread to provide the cosy factor in the evenings. Bonus points for ordering takeaway after your soak!

  2. Since I discovered Lush all these years ago, baths instantly mean bath bomb and bubble bars to me! I could never have a bath with plain water again haha. Playing some relaxing music is a great idea, I'll have to try that! Generally I like reading a book or magazine, or even watch some youtube videos :)
