The things you need in your life
I didn't want to call this a 'july favourites' post, even though it technically is. But y'know when you just want to call it something different because you're bored of just putting that? Same.
This post was so easy to put together because these are all things I've genuinely been OBSESSED with recently, and I just needed to tell you guys that in a post...
001: The Invisible Circus // Jennifer Egan: I've been on a serious roll with reading recently, and this was one of the books I couldn't put down. There was one day when I just read 100 pages in one sitting. That's how engrossed you can get in one of Egan's books. And if you're ever in need of something to pick up, then go for this!
"Set in 1978, the political drama and familial tensions of the 1960s form a backdrop for the world of Phoebe O'Connor, age eighteen. Phoebe is obsessed with the memory and death of her sister Faith, a beautiful idealistic hippie who died in Italy in 1970. In order to find out the truth about Faith's life and death, Phoebe retraces her steps from San Francisco across Europe, a quest which yields both complex and disturbing revelations about family, love, and Faith's lost generation. This spellbinding novel introduced Egan's remarkable ability to tie suspense with deeply insightful characters and the nuances of emotion."
002: this works: sleep: Not that I've had trouble sleeping or anything, but my dad got these in the hotel he was staying in for business and gave them to me. I've wanted to try products from this brand for aageess but have never wanted to part with money whenever in Oliver Bonas. But this is actually pretty good! It comes with the pillow spray and roll on that you put on your temples. Placebo effect or not, for some reason I feel like I'm falling asleep faster with this...
003: Lush The Birth of Venus jelly mask: Full of fresh sea water, lavender and chamomile blue, this new product is to die for. Seriously. You mush a piece in your hand till it's essentially like a paste, smooth it over your face and then after 10 minutes, wash it off. Like the ingredients suggest, it's soo soothing and refreshing it's like there's sea air blowing on your face. I love it!
004: Lust For Life // Lana Del Rey: If there was one album that I've been STOKED for, it's Lana's! Ever since hearing 'Love' for the first time, I've been dying to get my hands on LFL - and let me tell you friends, it does not disappoint. Not only do you have the catchy 'Lust For Life' but there's the sassy 'Cherry' and beautiful 'Get Free' as well as every amazing song in between. One of the best albums of 2017 by far!
005: Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in Ivory: This foundation is powerful. Not only has it caused me to neglect my Lasting Finish foundation, but it gives me glow and colour like I've never seen. Rimmel are amazing for foundations anyway and they're the only ones I'll use, but I didn't pick this one up until this summer (but though what summer fellow Brits??), and I have no regrets! Love love love.
006: I Heart Makeup Unicorns Heart highlighter: I did a review on this last month and I was pretty damn impressed. After many more uses, it's even more amazing. It's so pigmented and blends so well, you wouldn't believe you paid £5.00. I've finally found another IHM product that's actually another to rival high end highlighters - and even other drugstore highlighters. Sleek, I'm looking at you...

Omg you won't go back! In my opinion it's the best drugstore foundation you can get! Never got on with the likes of Bourjois and L'Oreal and Maybelline... xx
