A Few Lovely October Favourites

What made my autumnal month

Happy November kids! It's getting closer to the most wonderful time of year! Woooo!

I honestly feel like the last time I officially did a faves post was way back in June...

Isn't that crazy??

So, I thought, now that this coming colder weather is making me want to stay in more, why don't I sit down and talk with you guys about all the lovely things I've been obsessed with in October.
Before I ramble on too much, let's get down to it!

001: lush snow fairy body spray:
If there's one scent I'm a complete sucker for in the colder months (aside from the Lush Snowcake scent), it's Snow Fairy! And I couldn't wait to get my hands on the body spray at the beginning of the month. It's all I've been wearing and is a lovely bubblegum sweet scent that also feels very cosy and uplifting - without being too sickly.

002: mamma mia! here we go again soundtrack:
I saw the film in the cinema as soon as it came out, my love for ABBA is still strong, and it's all I've been really playing. Aside from the odd Halloween and Pale Waves song. If you haven't seen it, the DVD is out later this month. As a second film soundtrack, it's pretty incredible. One of my ultimate favourites is Waterloo. Hands down.

003: the mars room / rachel kushner:
Focusing on 28 year old Romy Hall who is sent to the Stanville Women’s Correctional Facility to serve two life sentences - because she killed a man who stalked her for months. This is a novel about social class, injustice and what it means to have temptation to act out ‘evil’ or have redemption.

I got SERIOUS OITNB vibes off this as you see what the events were that led up to why Romy was imprisoned and what her life was like. We also see points of view from a teacher at Stanville and towards the end, her stalker Kurt Kennedy.

It’s definitely a book I’d pick up again in a heartbeat. And for the record, regardless of the crime Romy done (and the fact that the court kind of disregarded some evidence), Kushner definitely made me feel sorry for her...

004: glossier birthday balm dot com:
One of my fave lip balms to date. Not only does it taste really good but also nourishes my lips really well. I'm even thinking of repurchasing it as it's halfway through. It was one of my first ever glossier products and I'm so happy I parted with £10 for it. It might even overtake Lush lip balms as a favourite...

005: lush charity pot hand and body lotion:
A good ol' classic. A beautiful rich and hydrating lotion that has save my cracked sore hands - and will continue to do for the foreseeable future. If you've not tried this yet, then what are you doing?? All profit minus VAT also goes to small grassroot charities to, like movements for good causes, permaculture, etc.

006: revolution conceal and define supersize concealer:
To date, I HATE my dark undereyes. I've decided to not be too bothered by them when I film bare faced for my youtube before I slap a load of makeup on. But this concealer from Revolution - which is also a dupe for the Tarte shape tape - is the bomb! It's high coverage, blends really well, and doesn't really disappear throughout the day. At £7, it's a pure bargain and an immediate holy grail.

What have you guys loved in October?

  2. Lovely post as always Fran. I love the book cover, it’s gorgeous! I’m too wimpy for horror but you always seem to pick up the most interesting books. The snow fairy body spray seems intriguing too. Hope you have an awesome November! :-) xx
