Reviewing A Couple Of New Products From Revolution

Does this thing really work?

Name that quote above...

In the past year, I've reaaally slowed down with my impulsive makeup spending. I think one of the last major splurges I had was with the Colourpop x Zoella collection.

Not that this was by any means a splurge, but I wanted to try out a couple of products that are new - and that I didn't really need (but will do when the older products run out).

AAAND they are: the Revolution Conceal & Define Infinite concealer *ooooh* and Revolution Big Lash mascara *double oooh*.

Do they really live up to their marketed name?

Let's find out...

FIRST UP! It's the Conceal & Define Infinite concealer!

This has MANY claims that it's higher coverage and more seamless to apply than the original. It's also smaller than the original (5ml) - fyi: but since buying this they have brought out an XL version! Usually I would go in with an initial concealer and then the Revolution C&D to cover up my horrendous under eyes.

I've tried the new one on it's own to see if it lives up to the 20% 'higher coverage'. Just over a week since I started using this, I do actually prefer this to the original! In all honesty, it blends easily and hides my under eyes and blemishes pretty well. And I feel I haven't reached for the others I usually use!

NEEEEXT! It's the Big Lash mascara!

Now! Anything that is labelled 'big' or 'mega' or even 'extra', I'm sold. And nine times out of ten, once I've applied the product I'm just instantly disappointed. (If you've been reading my blog for years, you'll know I've talked about my fair share of mascaras on here) Claiming to be 'high impact', I had high hopes.

As soon as I saw the brush though, my heart died. When a brush is that big, it's usually the formula that won't be as good as it claims. And it's sadly true. While it's a nice mascara to define the lashes, even after two coats it doesn't give me the 'big lashes' I desire. And though it's way more expensive, the Benefit Bad Gal Bang! is sooooo much better.

Out of the two, the concealer is definitely an instant hit for me, and one I'll keep repurchasing. Mascara wise, I'm still on the hunt for a more affordable version of the Benefit mascara. If you've got any suggestions, hit me up in the comments!
