Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara

-- Is this worth missing the new benefit
mascara freebie in ELLE? Could well be --

I picked up this mascara on my essentials trip the other day, and as I'm now getting into Soap & Glory, and their awesome vintage brand, I decided to give this a try. My Rimmel Wonder'Full mascara was much loved, but I thought it was time to try something else. This is where the Thick & Fast mascara comes in, as it promised thick long eyelashes.

As you can see for yourself, it does make my eyelashes longer and thicker, though it was easier applying the Rimmel one compared to this one. But that doesn't mean I don't love it. The brush is a unique concept to create thick lashes, one side has a V shaped groove where you apply the first layer, then the other side is a normal brush, where you go over it again, to essentially make them 'thicker'.

It does certainly make my lashes thicker, but the first time I tried it, they were dangerously close to becoming spidery. That's a skill you've certainly got to practice on, as three days in, they look better and more 'Benefit like'. Well, for £10, you would expect that from these. The formula itself is hard to pin down, it does dry easily and again, after three days of consideration, it is thicker. (Count the number of times I say thicker in this post and recieve a free pizza slice haha) The packaging is nice and sleek, and certainly Soap & Glory-esque. Lovely.

Would I miss out the Benefit Roller Lashes freebie for this product? In honesty, I don't know, but I reckon if I make this mascara work well for me, it could substitute it. Though I've heard the new Maybelline one beats it, so after this, who knows...

What mascaras are you guys loving right now?

  1. I'm still not letting go of my falsies! I used to have this as part of a S&G set, but it never had this packaging! I love the gold! xx
