Is The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash Worth The Hype?

The best thing since sliced bread??

Like most bloggers, or anyone that loves makeup and skincare, I've been a sucker for the Garnier Micellar Water. For the price it takes off your day old makeup off sooo easily and it's a real skincare staple... But when I heard that the brand was launching a micellar gel wash, I whipped my head around to the sponsored videos and posts that everyone was creating. (Because, let's face it, this new product has been featured in EVERYONE'S skincare routine and suddenly becoming a must have!) Of course, I had to give in to the hype and I was super intrigued by the claims of what it could achieve and do. Boots are currently selling it for half price, so it for sure went straight in my basket. Oops.

On first impressions, it's a fairly thinner bottle compared to the micellar water so I was dubious about whether it would offer the same amount of uses. Probably not. On the packaging it says it's suitable for sensitive skin, which is great for us gals who can't use harsh formulas and also contains grape extract... Oooohhh... I just want point out that I don't know if it's good for taking off eye makeup as I alwaaayysss use my Simple eye makeup remover as a first step, but after wetting the face and pumping a bit of the product out (I know! It comes with a pump!) my face makeup instantly started to melt away. Omg. It felt weird because it has a watery consistency but it's so satisfying to massage into the face.

After a rinse, I went in for a double cleanse, because I'm that person who LOVES a double cleanse - it makes my face feel even more refreshed and who doesn't want that?? And after towel drying there was no makeup coming off. Amazing or what? I feel like I'm being so difficult right now because some of you might not use a eye makeup remover or double cleanse, but I did try one cleanse one night and it did get most of it off. (There was still a bit of foundation coming onto my towel eek - so maybe it's best to double cleanse) You honestly don't need that much though, and I couldn't be more happier with this product! It leaves your skin feeling amazingly soft and fresh and I really think Garnier are upping their game with their skincare range! SO is it worth the purchase? Only if you're into thorough cleansing and don't mind doing the occasional double on heavier makeup! It is a drugstore product after all...

Have you given this gel wash a go?

  1. I was so skeptical about this at first, because I love the original micellar water so much so I was like hmmm - but I think I'm going to have to give this a try after my current cleanser runs out!
