Winter Evening Routine

-- Behold the glorious array of products I use
in my evening routine --

Hey, before I begin, I would like to apologise for the crap quality of this photo, sorry. But anyway, I wanted to share with you all my winter evening routine. Some of these products have been added into the mix to help keep my skin clear, and there's a handy tip that I learnt that I want to share with you all. I usually do this after I've eaten and done all my work if I have any, so I can unwind and relax. I also put on a bit of music while I take my makeup off. Like everyone says, makeup wipes take too long so I use some creams and cleansers to help. (Also, who even has time to scrub at their eyes? All it does is travel down your face haha)

Nivea Cleanser & Toner:
I use this first, and smother it over my face and then I take a cotton pad and just wipe everything off. It's so quick and easy, and yes, there are bits of makeup still on my face - but that leads onto the next step. Even though it's a toner, I don't feel it's good enough to be used on it's own, so I have to add in a Simple Toner at the end of my face routine.

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash:
After the cleanser, I whack this on and lather it over my face. Here's the handy bit, I recently learnt that to wash it off, use a flannel with hot water and wipe it off. It's supposed to open your pores and draw out the dirt. It works, because after doing this, my skin looks a lot better.

Simple Deep Cleansing Face Mask:
I raved about this last month, and it's amazing. I feel once my pores are open, I can put this on, leave it for three minutes and my skin feels softer and cleaner. I also use a hot flannel to get this off, and it works so well. You guys need to try it if you're looking for a face mask alternative.

Simple Soothing Facial Toner:
Another Simple product - sorry not sorry - and I use this product last on my face to clean my skin further. I know, a lot of cleansing, toning and cleaning haha. But all these products together really help. I just splash a few drops on a cotton wool pad and wipe it over my face in upward motions. It says so on the bottle.

Lush Shower Gel/Bath Bomb:
If I'm really in a pampering mood, I run a hot bath and pop in a bath bomb. Yesterday I used the Sakura bath bomb which I got as part of gift box for Christmas. It smelt amazing but was disappointing in the fact that it's colourless, so no fun there. *sad face* But if I can't be bothered I use my Snow Fairy shower gel, 100g and it's still going woo. (Or I use my Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, which makes my skin sooo soft. Literally.)

Moisturiser:
I finish off my routine with a moisturiser, and I've recently been loving the Lush Vanilla Dee-Lite. It rounds off the evening perfectly and then I can snuggle up in my PJs.

I usually finish the evening with a little read of a book or magazine, then go to bed. Or I catch up on YouTube before that.

I plan to change up my routine in the near future by trying different products as an alternative, have you guys got any recommendations? It has to be drug store because I'm a poor soul.

  2. It's a shame that the Sakura bath bomb didn't really look that special in the bath!
