Summer Beauty Edit

-- My top picks for the season --

Even when the London weather can be a bit iffy, there's no excuse not to treat yourself to a few beauty products to ease you into summer. Much like my spring beauty edit, I chose the best products that I think are perfect for this time of year - enjoy!

001: Sleek Highlight Palette in Solstice:
If you're on a budget but want amazing highlight game, then this £10 palette from Sleek is perfect. You get four highly pigmented colours for the brow bone, cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and cupid's bow. You can be summer ready with this in a few steps - I also did a full review here if you want to read more.

002: Benefit Hoola Bronzer:
I bought this mini version of the Hoola recently as I've never tried it. *shock horror* And I have to admit, it's pretty great for giving colour to your face especially when you need to match the tan on your body. I'm really impressed, only a little packs a punch and it's perfect for travelling.

003: Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette:
This palette is what summer dreams are made of. There's so many colours to play around with and you can get away with them at this time of year - though I would even wear these in A/W. Makeup Revolution are amazing for quality, and again, you get 32 perfect shades which means you can just throw this in your luggage for summer and away you go!

004: Essie Nail Paint in Bikini So Teeny:
Essie are amazing for nail paints and even with this beautiful summery lilac colour, you only need one layer. If you're in a rush to enjoy the weather and go out, be sure to turn to this and the brand. They've also got other colours for this time of year which I'm dying to try...

005: NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick:
If you haven't read my review on the much talked about brand NYX Cosmetics, then do so now. This purple lipstick is a dare to be different but for around £6, it's super pigmented (just like MAC) and goes well with the palette I mentioned in this post. I'm in love and I'll be sure to wear it as much as possible.

006: L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation:
These colours may seem a little dark, I mean, I went for Golden Beige, but the little cushion helps it to blend in so well it gives you a perfect summer tanned glow. I always turn to this now if I can't be bothered to go all out on bronzer. This is one for those days when you don't want to make too much effort. I'll also be doing a full review on this in the weeks to come.

What are your summer beauty picks?

  4. Bikini So Teeny is the best summer shade! So pretty. I'm not a fan of blue nail polish usually, but I'd wear this one a lot. (doesn't look lilac in the photo, I might be wrong in thinking it is blue then haha). I can't wait to read your review about the Cushion Foundation, I am not sure what to think about it as I'd be afraid of the texture and how it'd look on the face - more info will help! :)
