Why Plants Are Not Just Pretty Blog Props

Plant game: on!

Plants have always been popular... It started with the cute tumblr indie kids planting their seeds and taking pictures of garden centres and now it's spread like honey to all us bloggers. Fake or real, they take over interiors and flatlays as well as bringing a nice bit of colour for a week or maybe forever. Depending if you've invested in iKea or picked up a bunch at your local supermarket.

The most popular of them all, in which I shall name the queen of greenery, are the succulents! If you're luckily talented in keeping real ones alive or you're all over the real looking fake ones, there's one for everyone. So, don't ignore the fact that there are so many other reasons why they're beautiful...

001: They can make interior spaces look inviting and bright. Adding a bit of greenery and colour brings life to a space and real ones can make the help the space feel fresh!

002: They can become a lovely little hobby. If you're intent on growing real ones, you can have fun repotting and watering - and feeling proud of your achievements. Though your hands will get messy from the dirt but it's worth it and calming...

003: Ok maybe, I do have to include the fact that they do make photos look lively. They just look so photogenic and instagrammable. It's UNREAL. Yes to pretty themes and clean photos!

004: Shopping for plants can turn into a photo outing followed by coffee. The best part of having plants is shopping for them and seeing what new ones you can add to your collection. SO MANY IN ONE PLACE.

Do you guys keep any plants? (Fake or real!)

  1. I have a lot of plants in our house (all real). Luckily my husband has the secret green thumb and loves plants because I kill all of them when left on my own! xx

  3. I have tulips in my room but no "proper" plants. I'd love to get one though as I love nature and because of that, well, plants :)x
