The Meat & Shake Experience

Amazing friends and good fries

So last week, me and a few friends FINALLY got together after so long and headed over to Meat & Shake. Situated in Tooting Bec, it was pretty easy to get to via the Northern Line and the initial aesthetics did not disappoint. Based on a Southern American diner, you can get any kind of burger, shake, fries and they even do chicken ooooh.

Even though it's quite a small restaurant, it still felt spacious but cosy at the same time, plus the neon letters on the brick walls made it feel even more nicer and added to the rustic aesthetics.

Down to the actual food, I went for a Plain Jane (£7.90) which consisted of your usual cheese, patty, lettuce and tomatoes gherkin with a veeery nice relish in a brioche bun. And I also got sweet potato fries (£3.50 for single) and an Oreo milkshake (£3.80 for a small). And let me tell you, the milkshake was HEAVEN. Creamy and sweet along with actual biscuit pieces in nom nom nom.

We also got a side of Truffle fries to share which my friend commented that it was smaller than usual - which was kind of sad to hear. They were nice, but not my cup of tea as you say, I just didn't like the truffle flavour. BUT they looked pretty to photograph. And let me tell you, all these photos in this post are from my iPhone. I KNOW.

After taking a few cute selfies, we got stuck in. It was pretty filling but it was also really delicious for a burger and sweet potato fries. I tried so hard to be healthier and I was actually surprised at how good the fries were - so crisp and crunchy. I was defeated by the burger though so couldn't fully finish them. If I got the most basic and cheapest burger, I kinda hate to think what would happen if I went for a more expensive one...

Overall, (I sound like I'm writing an essay ew) I would actually go again and it was so nice to catch up with friends and fill my stomach with a burger and fries. If you guys live in London, definitely make the trip - even if your whole meal is sharing platters haha.

Have you guys had any good burgers recently?
