Slay This Autumn With The Revolution X Imogenation Palettes

Have Revolution killed it again?

Here's a fact about me. I am a magpie. And I am attracted to all things shiny and two toned colours ESPECIALLY purple and pink! And that's what the products I'm reviewing today come in.

They are sooo pretty. I can't even.

A youtuber called Imogenation recently collaborated with my current FAVOURITE drugstore brand Revolution. And has released a gorgeous looking eyeshadow palette and a highlight and contour palette. Which I both had to buy. Naturally.

Both palettes retail for £10.00 each which is a bargain for a drugstore product. And considering Revolution is known for amazing quality for a low price, I was ready to part with my money.

FYI I also bought a lipstick but we'll get to that at the end...

001: highlight to the moon palette:
Let's start with the highlight and contour palette. It has the prettiest name: highlight to the moon. And you get three matte highlighters, three contour shades and three shimmery highlighters - and come in huuuge pans.

I did film myself trying these for the first time, so I'll link the video at the end. But for the look I wanted to go for, I tried the middle contour shade 'warrior' which was a lovely cool brown shade that applied well and created a subtle look. But it's totally buildable! I then used the highlighter 'angelface' which was the quality I expected. PIGMENTED AF.

I definitely think for 9 shade options, you get your money's worth as you can create as many looks as you want and it's much better value than other drugstore brands - where you might get one contour shade and highlighter for £8.00...

Now for the main event. (In my opinion) The eyeshadow palette!

002: the eyeshadow palette:
It's legit called the eyeshadow palette and contains twenty beautiful shades ranging from shimmers to mattes.

The middle revolves around transitional shades which you can apply and then build a slaying autumn look with the oranges, reds and pinks - and two iridescent cream shimmers. Oooh.

I love the fact that the names (just like the contour palette) are printed onto the packaging rather than the protective plastic sheet. Which makes life so much easier somehow. And the shades themselves are a perfect size.

I'm usually constantly using my Revolution Soph x palettes, so I hoped the quality would be the same. Creamy, super pigmented and blend-able. AND I WAS NOT WRONG!

I've created three different looks from this palette (think pumpkins and berry tones) by the time you're reading this and it feels like I'm using a high end palette every time. It's insane!

003: the lipstick in diamond life:
Ok, I've left this till last because I don't have much to say on it. The packaging and colour from first impressions looks like a Charlotte Tilbury dupe. And for £3.00 you can't go wrong. But it's when you apply it, that's when the disappointment sets in. There wasn't a tester in store, so I took a chance.

But the end colour, though creamy and pigmented, is nowhere near what it looks like. It's a pinky red rather than a deep marroon. So, I was gutted. Because it looked so good. Again, watch the video below to see the look!

Overall, I'm reaaaally impressed with the Imogenation palettes, and I can't wait to get more creative with them during Autumn. Shame about the lipstick though...

Will you be giving these a go?

  2. The Eyeshadow Palette is so pretty! And I love the name haha. It's a shame for the lipstick that the shade isn't right, luckily it wasn't too expensive!

    1. It is and that's so true! The lipstick colour is still pretty, so I feel like I haven't totally wasted £3 but I'll still keep an eye out for a Glastonberry dupe :P
